Street Action
Street Action is a UK charity that supports local partners working with street children in Africa. It was started in 2006 by Nick Turner from Watering Can Media and Joe Walker.
We are heavily involved in Street Action and don’t just support them financially. We give them our time, our design/film/web consultancy skills and provide them office space. As a result of this relationship, we also work closely together on many projects to do with street children which include making films at the Street Child World Cup and creating a new website for New Generation in Burundi.

Video Production Training in Burundi
The Watering Can Media team traveled to the central east African country of Burundi in 2007 and 2009 to run a series of video production courses for students at a university in Bujumbura, the Burundian capital. We are currently developing a similar course for former street children in Burundi.
The Royal Marsden
Through personal connection, we are blown away by the work of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and the way they care for those with cancer. We just wanted to acknowledge that. We raise money for them when we can.

Getting started in design and video production
We support people who are just getting started in design and video production. We have had students doing work experience from local schools. We also work with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to help with their Ways into Work scheme. Our first placement from the Ways into Work Scheme was with us for nearly a year and became a wonderful and valuable part of the team.
